To break up or to NOT break up

So a while back I had a small bad experience with my doctor's office staff. I called in (and I never call the Dr.) when I wasn't feeling well at all and I knew it wasn't normal and I got the brush off and the answer well a stomach bug has been going around. So I was bugged but just let it go until the next time I had to call in. I was so annoyed that I got my sis to talk to her Rheumatologist and got the name of a different Dr. so I could get a second opinion.

So over the past 2 1/2 months as I have been waiting for my appointment I have been thinking about if I should "break up" with my current doctor and go to this new one. Also I was stressing about what to say to my current doctor without feeling stupid or bad for not going to him any longer.

Well, I saw this different doctor today and he seemed great and was also nervous about some of the medication I have been put on. I have been very nervous and bummed that I was put on such a harsh medication which causes horrible horrible birth defects especially since I specifically told my doctor we wanted to think about trying maybe next summer time or. Come to find out this harsh medication stays in my system for up to 2 years after I stop taking it. There is a different medication that will pull this harsher drug out of my system but from what this new doctor said is not too pleasant and that I wouldn't really like being on it (i.e at least 3 weeks of diarrhea).. fan-freakin-tastic.

So, at this point I have no idea what is going on with me, my body, or my doctors...but I do know that my old doctor is getting the BOOT...sayonara buddy!

My FAV blog/website

Okay the last little while I have been completely obsessed with this blog and now just recently it was made into a website. Most of you don't know this but when I was first starting college I wanted to major in Interior Design. I was sorta scared to try it out and then found out that to be pretty successful you should own your own company/store. Owning my own company is something that totally does not interest me.

So..... I just drool over all the items in this blog and other magazines and websites.... aren't they fabulous?! Check it out for your self. http://cocokelley.blogspot.com or http://www.cocokelley.com

Family Boating Day

Okay so this last weekend I went boating with almost all of my family. We all packed up some goodies and stuff for a BBQ and then headed to the lake! It was my nephews birthday party so we all played on the boat and in the sand and waves. We had a fantastic lunch of hot dogs cooked by me. :)

After lunch I headed out on the boat to have some fun. After giving all the kids a few rides on the tub then me and 2 of my sisters go out on the 3 man tub. In an effort to keep my dad from driving the boat like a mad man we also had my 5 year old niece with us. He was driving the boat nice and easy and then all of a sudden he hit a wave just right and on accident he flipped us all out of the tub. We didn't have any pictures or videos of us but this video is pretty close to how we flipped.

It was really fun but I hurt my arm during my crash. My arm is pretty painful but the tub ride was a TON of fun...it reminded me of the good old days boating with the family when we were younger.

Results

I realized that I am bad at providing the results of my tests to people. So everything ended up to turn out great. I finished up the heart monitor test and then had to wait 3 more weeks to get in to see the Cardiologist. During my appointment (after tons of questions about me and my family history) he thought it wasn't a very serious problem. He mentioned that my heart itself is fine but the nerves that control the speed of my heart is what is causing the problem. So, since he said that I had only passed out the once in 5 years and that I wasn't too concerned with it changing or affecting my life that I would not need to go on any medication. HOORAY! He also mentioned that his earlier thought of needing a pace maker was a option for me but it was a very very long way down the line. DOUBLE HOORAY!

I have also been told by my other Dr. that it is time to get off prednisone. YIPPEE!!!!! I have been off the sauce for almost a week.... I feel pretty good for the most part. I am tired a little and sore and stiff especially in the mornings and evenings but hey I'll take.

Heart Monitor Test is DONE

All I can say is....HOORAY!!! I am finally done with wearing my heart monitor. For those of you that didn't know I had to wear a heart monitor for 21 continuous days. That meant I had to wear electrodes and leads (the wires) that connected to my monitor 24/7 for 21 straight days. It really sucked for a few reasons....

1. Its sorta embarrassing
2. It was a HUGE pain in my rear.
3. The electrodes gave me welts/blisters on my skin.
4. From time to time I would rip an electrode off from my body on accident if I caught my wires hanging out of the bottom of my shirt...OUCH!
5. If I roll around at night I would constantly roll on top of the monitor waking me up.
6. The monitor would sometimes go off (very loud screeching) at random times....the best was when I was in the middle of a meeting with total strangers.
7. Working out with it was a pain.
8. Always had to find pants or skirts with pockets so I could hide the monitor better.
9. And last but not least was having to disconnect the monitor so I could shower but still having to keep the electrodes still attached.

None the less...it's all done and I am glad! Now the next step is to see an Arrhythmia specialist.....

Tilt Table Test

I promise to finish my second Disneyland post with pictures...a little late. However, I thought I would write about my tilt table test that I had done this morning. So my doctor ordered this test so long ago when I passed out at the gym and hit my head...yadda yadda that old story. So, as a result I had to do a bunch of tests and this was one of the ...I was thinking and hoping it would be the last one. I guess I was wrong. :(

What they do for this test is lay you down on this table for 20 mins and hook a bunch of electrodes and wires up to your chest... I think I had about 20 or so then I had a blood pressure cuff on both arms plus and IV. After you have been laying down for 20min then they tilt the table to a 70 degree angle and you stand there are 45 min to see if anything happens. The nurse takes and records my vitals every min (crappy for her). Lucky for me I got dizzy and passed out after only 7 min. I am thinking this means a ton more tests for me. CRAP....I will just have to wait and see what all the doctors have to say...until then I've been told no more running for me. I guess now I really do have an excuse for getting plumper.

Disneyland!!!! part 1

So a little while ago Ryan and I went to California for a work conference for me but decided to stay a few extra days and go to Disneyland! I LOVE Disneyland and everything that goes a long with it. I have always loved it but getting Ryan on board has been a tiny bit of a struggle. He likes Disney stuff but doesn't like all the crowds, lines, and all the walking. The timing of our last trip happened to be right during spring break for all the kids... ugh! We still have a ton of fun but have decided the next trip here is going to be very off season and not during spring break. One of the coolest things this year is that when you check out some of your pictures from the rides and attractions they don't make you buy them you can enter your email address and then they send you your picture for free! Score huh!

This one is from the futuristic house that we went and played in for a while....

This picture is from the Buzz Light Year ride..... we were all serious about shooting those aliens..

I'll put up more pictures on the next post.

Birthday Time

Okay as you all probably know I don't have kids...well lets say the "traditional" kids that is. I do have 2 furry 2 year olds. Yup that's right my kitties... (Tipsy & Spike) which are brother and sister and do not look anything all except the fact that they both are ENORMOUS!!!! Really they are the biggest cats ever. They aren't fat or anything...yet...but I bet they will be some day.

Okay getting back on track...this month my kitties turned 2 years old. Hooray for them that they have survived this long. :) What I mean by that is that I love animals a ton but everyone that knows me from when I was little knows that my pets always seemed to die often (fish, birds, etc) ....so props to the kitties. Plus in addition to them not only surviving my bad luck as a pet owner they have also survived my loving torture. I say and mean "loving torture" only in the best of ways. After all why else would I have kitties...they must entertain me some how...it's not like they have a job and can "contribute" to our family. Hahahah

Okay okay they contribute their love....and hair, and smell, and constant meowing, and occasional poops and yaks on the floor. I really do love my cats but I also like to torture them also. :)

Happy Barfday...uh I mean birthday kitties. Okay I really didn't give my kitties a birthday party or put a hat on them but if I had might look like this...

Lets just be honest...my kitties would probably look like the one in this picture below....which would just make me laugh at them.

Chick Flick Movie Tag

I was tagged by one of my sisters and figured that since it was close to Valentine's Day that I would play along. First of all everyone needs to know that I am a very indecisive person. I can never make up my mind so for me to pick (or narrow down) some of my favorite chick flicks is extremely hard for me. I love movies first of all and usually unless they are completely horrible I usually like them all...so here it goes.

(These movies are not in any particular order...)

Ever After
This movie plays on TV a lot and every time I run across it I try to watch some of it because it is such a cute show!

Sweet Home Alabama
I LOVE this show even though I don't watch it a ton and I love how it ends.

Must Love Dogs
I hadn't watched this movie until one of my sisters gave it to me for a B-Day present one year and I ended up really like this movie.

Wedding Date
Okay the more this movie is played on T.V the more and more I like it....plus it has Austin Healey cars in it which are cool looking because I will have that same car one day. :)
I tag everyone that reads this post except for my sisters because they have already been tagged.

Husband Tag

Where did you meet your husband? We were set up on a blind date by my co-worker (now brother-in-law). Our first date was dinner then we went bowling. We actually didn't talk to each other a ton on the date... he talked to his sister and I talked to my co-worker/bro-in-law. After bowling then played some games at his house and then ended up talking for a few hours.

How long did you date before you were married? About 2 years

How long have you been married? It will 2 years in July

What does he do that surprises you? From time to time he will come home with little gifts or surprises such as flowers or a video I have been wanting...just because. He also does more laundry than I do (which is GREAT!).

Whats your favorite feature of his? I have to pick just one?! I love his smile and also he eyes. I also love his arms...which are strong from his manual labor job. :)

What is his best quality? His best quality for me is that he is soooo incredibly patient. He keeps me relaxed and calm when I tend to get worked up easily.

Does he have a nickname for you? Honey, Babe, Stac

What is his favorite food? Italian food

What is his favorite sport? Snowboarding, Wake boarding, Soccer.... is car restoration considered at sport? If so then that one for sure! :)

Whats your favorite thing to do as a couple? We like to do anything together. We like to go boating/wake boarding together but we really like to just relax watch movies or play video games together.

Do you have any children? Nope, but we will one day.

Does he have any hidden talents? Yes! He is great with his hands. He can build anything or make just about anything work. He also is amazing at body and paint work with cars and car restoration.

This is a picture of his Dad's mustang that he restored for him.

How old is he? 30

Who said "I love you" first? To tell you the truth I can't remember...probably he did because I am usually nervous to take big steps like that first.

What is his favorite music? Anything really (except country). He really likes alternative, some rap/hip hop, hair bands, older stuff, Johnny Cash... etc

What do you admire most about him? That he is always willing to help others out even if it is not convenient or fun for him at all.

What is his favorite color? I think it is blue...but if that is wrong then my next guess would be brown or green.

Will he read this? Yes

Who do you tag? All of the wife's on my blog list! Except Shawna, she tagged me!

Ry, you are the best husband and friend I could ever wish for. I am so lucky to have you in my life. I love you!!!!!

OUCH!!!

Okay, I am not someone that talks about themselves very much but thought I would put an update of what happened the other day to me.

I had the day off work on Monday with nothing to do...I was bored...so I decided to go to the gym. Keep in mind that I really haven't worked out in forever! So last week I met a friend at the gym and I just walked for like 30-45 min and felt great and wasn't sore one bit. So on Monday I figured I would try running for a bit...I walked for like 5 min then started a hill routine and I was running at like a 5.0 up and down some hills.

I have new ear buds and they were bugging me so I stepped on the side rails for a second to adjust them and after a few seconds I started to get really fuzzy like I had stood up too fast. So, I gripped the handles harder and thought to myself don't pass out just breath and the next thing I know I am SOOOOO sleepy and I am behind my treadmill standing up. A girl from another machine was standing beside me asking me if I was okay and if my head was okay. I was a little out of it but felt really embarrassed so I didn't ask her what happened. I basically had passed out and somehow flew off the treadmill and smacked the back of my head on this metal box thing that houses plugs, cords, etc. Since there wasn't any blood at all...I just said that I was fine and got back on my treadmill and the other girl next to me asked if I was okay. I said well I guess I'm done for the day and turned off my machine. I sat in the locker room for a min or so to make sure that I wasn't going to pass out again. Since I felt relatively fine I then decided to drive home and blasted the a/c for fear that I was gonna pass out and crash my car (even though I felt fine). On the way home my head hurt like HELL! So I took my ponytail out and moved my hair around a bit and pulled my fingers out of my hair and they were bloody...but figured that since it wasn't gushing or even anything that I had just cut it a tiny bit. I went home and sat on the couch then decided to take a bath because I was gross and sweaty. I got my hair wet and that hurt really badly so I just waited until Ryan got home from work. He got home and I had him look at my head and his reaction was NOT good at all which freaked me out... I started to cry a little bit because I didn't want to go to the doctor. So I had him take a picture and then I looked at it.... OH MY GOSH!!! It was disgusting and big. I had NO idea that I basically had a huge hole in my head.... I am thinking when I fell that it basically scalped me. So, when he moved my hair out of the way to look at my "cut" it opened it up and that's why he totally freaked out.So we then went to the insta care and the nurses came out to the waiting room to numb my head so it could be stitched up and they actually saw it for the first time... You would think they wouldn't pull faces being in the profession that they are in, but they all pulled a face except the doctor. So the doctor made sure that when I passed out that I was not running and that I was actually stopped at the time...because if I had been running then that would mean heart problems. So, one good thing...my ticker is still okay...as far as I know. Anyway, the Dr. said the best thing for this type of injury would be staples and he is trying to prep me so I don't freak out and I told him to not worry because I have had staples before but just in my side for the kidney transplant. So viola... 5 staples later my head was feeling much better. It is pretty uncomfortable to try to relax my head at all and sleeping is a big pain in the butt! Other than that oh ya and the headaches I'm doing well. I am just thankful that my “accident” wasn’t any worse than what it was.

I won’t post a picture for all of you squeamish people…if you want to see a pic let me know I’ll send it your way. :)

Body Worlds 3

So Ry was feeling better from his cold yesterday so we decided to go and see the Body Worlds 3 exhibit in SLC. All I can say is that it is fascinating and it felt surreal to me at times. The work that was done there was AMAZING.... I can't believe they can make molds or preserve the body is such a way. I have always been intrigued with the body, heart, brain etc but have not explored learning more about it. This gave me a chance to see bodies, organs, bones etc first hand and I was glad that I had the chance to do so.

Here is a link of what the exhibit was like.
